An ant colony found refuge in my Saturn during a severe thunderstorm one summer. I didn’t find them for a few weeks, but I kept seeing errant ants in my backpack and bedroom. When I finally discovered them, they were in the trunk, the consoles in the front, and under the floor mats. I had to vacuum them out at a gas station, and then I shoved about a dozen traps all over the place. I was itching for weeks though, feeling phantom ants everywhere.
Good luck on the search for a replacement vehicle! A year ago it was still bit challenging to find what you want.
And congrats on the house! I hope it all goes smoothly! Nashville housing is a nightmare. I hope you found a good neighborhood. I know a few folks in the area and it has never been easy to find affordable housing, especially an actual HOUSE.
We grabbed a Honda Odyssey in 2011 when our kids were 9 and 6. It really was quite the (non-REO) Speedwagon. It did great on long vacation trips, and was a fantastic people hauler for adults on a night out (seating eight pretty comfortably).
But alas, all good things... in March 2019 a much older Honda Odyssey hit my Child Bride and our youngest (then 14) in a head on collision on the old farm road just 900 feet away from our home here in the Northern California Sierra Nevada foothills. Totaled both vehicles. The gal in the other Honda was bloodied, but survived - but other than a few scrapes, bruises, contusions, and concussions (and my wife's wedding band getting bent around her finger) my family was okay. The day we said our goodbyes to the old battlewagon, collecting our gear in the impound yard, we heard a story on the news that the 2011 Honda Odyssey was the ONLY vehicle with zero fatalities in collisions as recorded up to 2018.
She went down fighting.
Condolences on your Odyssey - Hopefully you'll consider Odyssey NCC-1701-A for the next Family-mobile.
Mice in our minivan. But they stuck to the engine compartment which unfortunately did not end well for them. Or for my wallet when I took the vehicle in due to that really strange odor up front.
